I'm slowly but surely getting into indie music.

28.11.2010

Almost the end to this thanksgiving break. I hate to say it but people get too caught up in extended weekends or random days off during the week. For the past 2 years I've known I didn't want to become like that... I wanted to enjoy each day and be thankful for it regardless if it was a "Monday" or a dragging Thursday.

But with each passing day, I am always always always thinking of what I want to do with my life.... and I really can't pinpoint just one thing.

Finally getting over this little cold I had over this weekend. Yay. With no help from meds, my body did a good job. I couldn't do my 5k run Thanksgiving morning due to the cold, but it didn't stop me from going to PA, New Jersey, DC, & doing almost everything I needed to do. Life goes on regardless if you are sick or not so suck it up maaan.

With that being said, I am on a mission to get back into shape. (Some of you will laugh stating I'm in good shape but there is nothing wrong with wanting to tone up)
So I will be doing the "bestie" workout. (If you saw my bestie, you would understand)

Another habit that I have acquired is being thankful despite the situation. If I don't feel like working one day, I am thankful I am in such a position to do so. The same goes for if something isn't going "my way", should something break, what have you I am thankful to be in such a position where I have such amazing opportunities to have such "luck" occur. To some this could get annoying, but whatever it takes to make the world a better place.

Just wanted to rant a little.

Toodles.

Atlantic City -Revisited-

This is Felix.

He is my best friend and I would do anything in the world for him.

After a few hours at King of Prussia mall in PA for some Black Friday shopping, we took a trip to Atlantic City!

After losing some, winning some, I just down on my luck, until I play the .25 cent slots! Oh man did I win!!!

Let's just say I left very happy!

24.11.2010

Oh if money were not an issue, I would apply to a(n) [A sounds better] University in a city I would love to live in and completely submerse myself in my studies, activities and the diverse set of friendships one can obtain.

But I might as well focus on finishing at the school I am attending first eh?

One can dream though, as it may come true one day, someday.

Note: I may not have a New Years kiss this year.... though I don't feel too sad about that.

Meet Chandler

Snapped a few photos of one of my dogs, Chandler. Pretty excellent quality if I say so myself.

Just wait until I venture outside with this thing.

Whoa

I. Love. This. Photograph.

21.11.2010

I have heard "Free Bird" everyday for the past week and a half now.

Hmmm.

Anywho, I have a new (well new to me) camera! It's a sony a230. Fancy huh? I have somewhat of a clue how to use it so for now you can call me a noob with it.

As I'm am writing this I am listening to Billy Idol "Dancing with myself" & sipping on some hot cocoa (fair trade organic of course). Here are a few pictures (thanks to Photoshop Lightroom & my new camera) of two things I enjoy.

First is my love for hot chocolate/cocoa. Nothing is more intriguing about sipping on such a beverage while be it reading, studying, doing homework or just simply enjoying the day.

The second is a collection of books I will read. So far "Little Bee" is utter amazing and such an uplifting book. I highly recommend reading it.

The semester is almost over and completing two classes and having two left (in the semester) feels good. When winter and spring come along, I have my hands full in terms of classes and finishing! YES.

I am been doing more at work which is -awesome-. Been meeting alot of people, attending meetings and helping collaborating with projects is something that is really satisfying to me and I don't mind staying later at work if need be. I have also been directing myself towards what I am interested in as well. Definitely a big change from what I felt like just a few months ago.

I came across an article about a place in MD that hosts a vegan thanksgiving dinner (grr I can't make it) but also read that they are a sanctuary for rescued factory farm animals! How awesome is that! I've been wanting to volunteer at such a place with the only one I knew of was in upstate New York. I send in my volunteer form so hopefully they will accept me!

Those are the main things that have had my attention as of now. Getting ready for the holiday season and just visiting places before it gets too cold outside. I feel like it will be an interesting winter!

I will leave you with a song I have been listening to since I first heard it.

Until next time.

Philadephia, PA

Ventured to Philly! Yay. I've been wanting to explore this city for quite some time. My close friend Jeff and I arrived from the Megabus around 11am. Not having a plan and just going with the flow really made it an enjoyable experience.

I will definitely be exploring this city but more in depth again soon.

Atlantic City

My most recent adventure would have to be [see above]. I went with a few people as well as met up with others. The main reason was to gamble and have a great time. Now, I rarely "party" these days so when I do, I can appreciate it more.

First picture taken from my phone is around 7am (after going to bed around 4am mind you) and it is the view from our hotel room. Six doods and a chick all sharing one room at the Trump Marina.

We spend our time gambling at the casino and then ventured to The Water Club Hotel.

I did not take too many pictures as I was enjoying myself. Jessie James (look her up!! shes adorable) was there performing a few songs. That was cool.

The whole trip was a blast, I found my company awesome, entertaining and not to mention hilarious.

Finally, here is yours truly after an eventful night.

10.11.2010

I have to bite my tongue, hold my breath, and do whatever it takes to hold it in until December 6th.

Which also means I must do the above for even longer after that date.

I.Hate.Waiting.

Waiting=Stress

& everyone should know how I feel about that.

09.11.2010

I find myself updating this more than I should...
I find myself listening to Oasis, U2, Broken Bells, and just mellow thought provoking music more than I should...
I find myself missing a few people that were in my life terribly but then going back to "normal" more than I should...
I find myself being discouraged so easily more than I should...

I find myself becoming someone I have never seen before.. not that that is always bad of course...
I find this post becoming more somber.. than i[t] should...

I know life is amazing and a truly incredible experience.

I'm incredibly lucky that John understands what I'm going through -to a point-. I would love to elaborate more on the subject just to see it in writing, but I am exhausted of it. All I will say is this.. I do need to get to know myself because I really don't know but taking that journey will cause me to distance myself from everyone. So who knows..

{One life, you got to do what you should}

Oh, lookie. Haven't heard this in a while. The singer reminds me of Tom Hanks.

STS-125!!! Amazing video! Last Hubble mission.. did I mention I met the Commander for the last two Hubble Missions?! Yup yup!

08.11.2010

I'll be damned if I don't make a difference in this world.

Funny how when your path in life becomes a little clearer how the things you thought mattered... don't.

I have to say I am very excited about my future and I am so thankful for how blessed I am and the opportunities that have arrived in my life.

I am also thankful for EVERYONE I have met in my life, they have all taught me something or another. Even if I no longer speak to them for whatever reason, I am thankful for the time that I have been blessed with their presence. I wish that if everyone just read one entry in my blog it would be this one.

I hope you can see the below link.. I am in love with this song. Enjoy.

06.11.2010

So I want to splurge on myself since I haven't really. There are a few things that I need. Winter clothes... coat, long sleeve and of course more hats wouldnt hurt. =)

The issue is not having the money.... it is letting go of it as it would cut into my trip fund.

Decisions, decisions.

02.11.2010

I should get ready for class that is later, but that won't take long.

Time To Ramble

I ventured to New York again this past weekend for a seminar of Hermetic Philosophy and man I had no idea what to expect. (Better that way) I feel you get what you put in, so I took it very seriously. It was nice to meditate and getting to know yourself better. Let's just say, I got something out of it. Who knows maybe I'll be back next month.

But afterwards on a limb, went to the Discovery Center to see King Tut artifacts. I've never seen many artifacts from Egypt and to really look at the detailing and the time they took to really make things that we look over today is amazing. Photography was not allowed, boo. Glad I got to witness it before it went to Colorado.

- - - - -

I've found an awesome hotel to stay at in San Fran. It's cheap and "off the beaten path". Great reviews also. The only thing I'm uneasy about is the plane ticket price. Hmm have to get there one way or another right? Don't get me started on figuring out how to navigate through the airports but gotta learn someday.
--------

I've been having an urge to go on a road trip anywhere.. like really it does not matter. I need a GPS first. ^__^ Last thing I need is to not be able to get home.. or maybe that's not so bad.

Meh.

If You Forget Me

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,

if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine

~Pablo Neruda
